ATCi’s Simulsat C/Ku Antenna Gathers Programming for FIFA World Cup 2006

Phoenix, Ariz (June 13, 2006) - Antenna Technology Communications Inc. (ATCi), a provider of ground-based commercial satellite communications systems, today announced that one of the largest cable operators in Europe will be deploying Simulsat C/Ku Multibeam technology to provide coverage for the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006

With its ability to receive information from up to 35 satellites simultaneously, Simulsat technology will be one of the key components for the World Cup’s wide range of programming. Once the signals are gathered by the Simulsat, digitally formatted and uplinked, the digital programming will be delivered to the World Cup’s 10 million basic cable subscribers in more than 12 million homes. Essentially, one Simulsat C/Ku does the work of 35 steerable parabolic antennas in the space of one and a half antennas.

“ATCi is pleased to be part of such an important international event,” said ATCi CEO, Gary Hatch. “It is gratifying to know that ATCi’s Simulsat is playing a necessary and key role in helping to enhance the digital viewing experience for World Cup’s global audience.”

The FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 9, 2006, in Munich, Germany.
